I am directed by the Major General Commanding to acknowledge the receipt of Your letter dated 14th instant No. 968 forwarded through The Commandant of Le Garrison, and to inform you for the information of the Existing Governor that the Profor General is willing to pay amours for the building of the Batteries, but at the same time he desires me to add that it is his intention to forward a remonstrance to the Right Honble the Secretary of State for War. Still holding the opinion That Her M. Celepander Esqr.
